Alleged Offence(s): 
Contrary to S187 (1) of the Companies Act 1990, Mr. Monahan, trading under the name and style of Patrick J. Monahan & Co. acted as auditor of 11 companies when not qualified to do so. The 16 charges before the court related to Mr. Monahan acting as auditor for a total of 16 separate financial years for the companies. 

Outcome: 
On a plea of guilty the Court convicted the defendant in respect of 16 charges pursuant to Section 187(6) and (9) of the Companies Act 1990, imposed fines totalling €3,200 and directed he pay €2000 towards the cost of the prosecution.
