Following directions to charge issued by the Director of Corporate Enforcement, Mr. Zaheer Hassan appeared before the Dublin District Court this morning. At the hearing, Mr. Hassan pleaded guilty to 7 counts of furnishing false information contrary to section 242 of the Companies Act 1990. The charges relate to the unauthorised use of a bona fide auditor’s ARN (Auditor Registration Number). The charges further relate to three companies.
Having heard details of arrest, charge and caution, the evidence before the Court and defence submissions, the judgement of the Court was that the facts were taken as proven and the provisions of the Probation of Offenders Act 1907 was applied.
